Newsmakers, the production outfit that founded and manages the classical-pop quartet Angelos, announces that the group has gone through significant changes and is introducing its new members.
Retaining founder and original member, classical singer and painter George Sison-Tagle, the new Angelos is now composed of members John Louie Abaigar, Miguel Aguila and Rei Paolo Libiran.
George Sison-Tagle founded the group Angelos in 2007 together with his friend, world champion pianist Angelo Ortiz (for whom the name Angelos was derived). The group was then introduced to the public on September 13, 2007 through his first major concert, "Salute to George!" which was held at the Crowne Plaza and produced by his mother, Beth Sison-Tagle. George also has a solo classical-pop album, with original compositions by master composer Vehnee Saturno.
John Louie Abaigar was a finalist at GMA 7's Pinoy Pop Superstar (Year 3) and was one of the Top 40 Boys in Star Struck's Year 6. He is a graduate of Centro Escolar University's Conservatory of Music and plays piano and guitar.
Rei Paolo Libiran is a very young Tenor, Voice major in the Conservatory of Music (CEU) , and plays very well musical instrument like piano, guitar & drums. He is also a composer & songwriter. He joined the Manila Vocal Ensemble last year & had a 3 months concert tour in Switzerland.
Miguel Aguila is a multi-talented and multi-awarded artist. He is the youngest recording artist under Warner Music label. Only in his teens, he already achieved the Hall of Fame status at the Aliw Awards for Best Child Performer. He is also a commercial model, dancer, and stage, TV and movie actor.
The old members of Angelos (Jon Joven, James Uy and Floyd Tena) have decided to pursue their own interests and are no longer connected with either Newsmakers or Angelos manager Charo Yu. The name "Angelos" is registered with the DTI Intellectual Property Office under Newsmakers, and thus can not be used by the said old members. Newsmakers is owned by Beth Sison-Tagle.
